The Last Eclipse of the Exalted Sun
As the “Eclipse Season” continues we find ourselves at the end of one cycle while already beginning the next. The passing of the Lunar Eclipse in Virgo just two weeks ago carries on and forward as the Solar Eclipse in Aries draws other stories to either a close or alteration of course. On a global scale the Libra and Aries eclipses have been devastating. With a change in who is dropping the bombs. The U.S. seems hellbent on ending the war in Ukraine as soon as possible. While simultaneously gaining a ravenous thirst for adding to the body count of the innocent in Gaza. Meanwhile other acts of genocide are being enacted across the Congo, Sudan, and others. Mostly areas that are known as mineral rich fields of resources that Tech Vampires like Musk need to continue building the “Green Economy”.
One of my personal cards for the day was the 8 of Cups and I can hear the dryness in my tone. I had said in my “Cheshire New Moon” that the ceasefire would end. That it would be devastating to think about Palestine being pummeled while Ramadan was being observed. So my sky’s feel grey and the soil of my heart is parched. So I’ll pull a card for the upcoming eclipse and see what the divine has to reflect on.
II of Swords (Reversed) and the IV of Swords
The first thing that pops out is that we have some continuity. The II of Sowrds shows us the Cheshire Cat in the “Tulgey Wood”. Offering no answers the Cheshier Cat simply implies that it doesn’t really matter which path we choose at this point. With the card being reversed. It’s being suggested that we shouldn’t make any choices at all. In the RWS 2 of Swords it shows a person on their knees holding two swords with a blind fold on. This is often interpreted as an initiation scene. A stage card with someone following directions. There is an implication that a choice has already been made. The choice to begin the initiation. Where as here in the Journey of Oz and Wonderland Alice has the “Illusion” of choice. However, the cheeky Cheshire makes that choice seem mute at best.
The IV of Swords speaks to us about balance. In “36 Faces” Austin describes this decan/face as a gyroscope. Which to me is a perfectly balanced whirl of chaos that if it comes in contact with a single misstep loses all of it’s ability to balance. In the JOW it shows the Red King. Napping or sleeping peacefully. There is an inference that all of the story is actually taking place in the sleeping kings dreams. This paired with the previous II of Swords tells me that there is something that’s going to spill chaos in the next month and that we’re being warned to be patient and not to act brash in response to whatever arises from these events outside of our control.
Studying the Eclipse the same way we would a New Moon. We look to the first aspect that Luna will perfect after she escapes the rays of the Sun. This is when Luna will be visible for the first night on the western horizon as helios sets. This month it will mark the end of Ramadan.
For a complete odd ball of possibilities. Luna goes into a Hellenistic Void of Course period after completing a under the beams sextile to Jupiter and then a still sight unseen square to Mars. This makes the first “True New Moon” aspect a sextile from Exalted Luna in Taurus 23’44” to Fallen Mars in Cancer 23’44”. She then moves into a enclosure between Saturn and Mars. All While approaching a conjunction to with Algol.
Now that’s all from a Helenistic perspective. Today, we use a lot more bodies that don’t rely on just our ability to see. So while that seems dire. Using the same technique we do still notice that the first aspect that Luna makes once escaping the rays of the Sun is Pluto. From Luna 3’32” Taurus to Pluto 3’32” Aquarius.
Now this is a lot of technique I just went through. It’s important to notice the dignity and support that Luna has in this. Though She makes that square to Mars they are in Mutual reception and she’s coming off a sextile to Jupiter. This is the worst dignity she has here. As soon as she moves into Taurus she becomes very stable on her own. Though Venus is retrograde She is also exalted. This bodes well. This doesn’t mean that this is going to be an easy eclipse. But it is going to be an important one.
In reflection back to the cards we see that aiming for patience is going to be the best we can do. Even when Luna is trying to clear that malefic enclosure with Mars and Saturn. It’s going to feel a lot better on Luna’s part then it did earlier in March when it happened in Scorpio. However, she will be bringing Uranus along for the ride this time.
On a global level this is probably going to be the finalizing of a truce between Ukraine and Russia. The U.S. has no intention of slowing down in Gaza. So this may escalate things over there. Trumps administration seems to be whipping and lashing out like a “Gyroscopic Hydra” right now though. So maybe something simple brings the whole thing crashing to a halt.
On a more personal level. Let's take a look at how this eclipse is going to shake up for individuals: Aka my first ever Horoscope. Wish me luck.
We’re going to use the Two of Swords rx and the IV of Swords as key ingredients. Here is how I think the eclipse is going to show up in your personal zodiac using a technique offered by Dr. Ali A Olomi from his patreon. What this technique shows us is the subtle division of the zodiac into the 12th parts. Specifically, we’ll be using the chart for the Pacific Northwest. I encourage other people to locate how the eclipse is affecting their region. Because I do think that the rising degree (which is determined by both time and space) is the most sensitive point of where the celestial meets the terrestrial.
We can see through this technique that the Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) are going to FEEL this eclipse. Because both Cancer and Libra are the 12th parts indicated. As well as the eclipse itself is happening in Aries and the rising sign of the eclipse is Capricorn. So regardless. This eclipse has the possibility of “MOVING” stuff. Cardinal signs can initiate the changes we needed in our lives. Sometimes it’s the universe dragging us kicking and screaming into the future. It can also be the sweeping through and pushing things out of your way. Regardless. The II of Swords (Rx) and the IV of Swords point to patience being the key. Its also important to mention that both of these cards show up in Libra by the RWS system.
Remediation for Eclipses is to burn Camphor (Source Al Buni)
Aries Sun: Obviously you’re going to feel this as part of your identity shift that you’ve been going through since 2023. Self focus and moving energy out of your life. This is also going to put pressure on where you call home. Either in your family or simply where you rest your head.
Aries Rising: Also pulling yourself through a focus on Identity and comfort. This is going to impact your relationship field more than the home.
May you both find the patience to hold still long enough to let the dust settle before charging into the unknown.
Taurus Sun: This may hit your community or siblings more than anywhere else. I hope you simply get a chance to commiserate with a neighbor or friend about the changes they’ve been going through in their experience.
Taurus Rising: This is going to show up more in your path of health, habits, or being fed up at work. There’s still a lot of Retrograde energy for Venus and Mercury. Luckily, Taurus, you can take things in stride. Don’t take action on the information you have.
May you be looked to as a beacon of stability for those you care about.
Gemini Sun: You may have had a hard time keeping onto your money since the Mars Rx entered Cancer on January 6th. Hopefully this eclipse brings an end to what seems like an endless burning of resources.
Gemini Rising: You may finally find a breakthrough in your creative outlet. Ketu has been purging this energy for quite some time. You may have felt that the return on your actions hasn’t been as effective as you’ve wanted. Hopefully this eclipse puts an end to that.
May this eclipse bring a pivot point that helps you both find a clean break and new start.
Cancer Sun: It has not been fun to have Mars swinging his swords blindfolded while traversing through your first house. Unless of course you were born like this (Natal Cancer Mars). This eclipse may initiate a change that has been irritating you since January 6th. Be brave.
Cancer Rising: This may come as a climax in a change in your identity. Maybe you’re simply moving on in how you approach the world or maybe you’ve gone through “transition” procedures over the last year. Hopefully you haven’t had some unintended health issues that have needed surgery to resolve. This might be a good time to get a tattoo just not on your face (Astrology is for entertainment purposes only). Aside from all this. The eclipse is going to make the home a place of emphasis. Recovery and Pease are prescribed. Though Cancer generally enjoys being at home. You might want to make sure the call isn’t coming from inside the house.
May the eclipse give you the tools you need to address conflict with courage. Patience is key.
Leo Sun: This eclipse is going to emphasize the stress that Mars has been burning up in your subconscious. Maybe you’ve even been dealing with identity paranoia or dysmorphia issues. Maybe you’ve simply been having nightmares. Either way. Cool the head. When Mars enters Leo later this month you may need perspective and patience.
Leo Rising: There may have been blind spots around your daily commute, neighbors, and friends over the last couple of years. Maybe you haven’t check on your siblings in a while. This might be a good time to return to some old haunts or call your brother/sisters. Just a check in is good. This might be a place of unexpected news.
The Sun being eclipsed always hits Leo hard. It may have been a tough couple of years for you to feel strong and illuminating your full light. Since the normal boost of the springtime Sun has been upstaged by Rahu (annoying dragons stealing the show). This will be the last one for a few years. So, if life permitting, feel that inner joy bubble up a little stronger this summer. Don’t forget to thank your plant relatives for always shining back at you.
Virgo Sun: Here we see that the conflict between friends and colleagues really comes to a climax. I know that even when we aren’t involved. Conflict in this arena changes the way we perceive people we care about and how we perceive ourselves in these areas. Take rigorous notes before signing any contracts.
Virgo Rising: A sudden and unexpected event may bring a vacuum to your resources. I know you try to keep it all in check. This eclipse is pointing to this being an issue though. However, With Venus back in Pisces. We might be underselling this as a possible “win” column for finances. So we’ll lob that one up there for you and hope for the best.
It’s not uncommon to get all the details before acting. This is especially the case this month.
Libra Sun: There has been a lot happening in the career field this year. Even if it’s just striving to make a claim at what you want to achieve. Struggle with your bosses. Maybe even desperately waiting for the perfect conditions to make a move. We see that this eclipse may give you the perspective you need in order to make the changes you want to see in the world you’re trying to create.
Libra Rising: There may be an event coming in with this eclipse that finaly clears the Fog of Ketu from how you see yourself and what you’re doing. This may have been a time of sitting back and pondering what your doing and where your going. The Aries eclipse might bring a revelation about how and what that means for you now.
With both tarot cards pointing to this area. It’s Important to remember that you can’t always wait for the perfect moment to arrive. However, if chaos does come. Wait for all the chips to fall before you start attempting to rebalance them again. Don’t forget that the most important ingredient to “Harmony” is “Justice”.
Scorpio Sun: Your Custodian (Mars) has been fallen for a long time. Every effort may have felt like emotional strife. An inability to contain it might have been messy over the last couple of months. This eclipse may give you the energy you need to get through the rest of Cancer. When Mars moves into Leo on April 17th be aware that the warmth and stability of the Leo fire immediately receives the glaring intensity of Pluto.
Scorpio Rising: You may have trouble not being your own worst enemy during this eclipse. Be careful about bursts and over reactions. Just as the advice from the Scorpio Sun is real. This eclipse is going to impact you in the realm of the 12th house and the unseen. So keep your knives at your side. Keep biding your time.
There is going to be a time when your patience is rewarded. Just make sure you aren’t letting any feelings boil over until then. Go let off some steam if you need to. Go find a “Rage Room”. It does feel good to just break stuff sometimes.
Sagittarius Sun: Have you done your taxes yet? It seems silly. However, with the way things are going around finances this year. I wouldn’t put it off till the 15th. Regardless. I hope the instability of Cancer hasn’t been too hard on your partner on the more hidden and sensitive side of yourself.
Sagittarius Rising: This eclipse is going to hit your friends and colleagues out of nowhere. Though this group may have been undergoing changes in your life over the last couple of years. It may be time to introduce yourself to some new friends.
Though you are known for being able to bring a smile to people's faces regardless of the nightmare hellscape we’re engulfed in. You might want to set aside some one on one time with someone you trust to be vulnerable with. Because there is a lot going on in the world and you do have feelings about it.
Capricorn Sun: Your partnerships have been getting pretty spicy over the winter. You may have had to cut ties with people you didn’t expect to. However, endings do come. Just don’t let it make you cold to new blood in your life. It is ok to leave the key under the mat sometimes for people who know where it is.
Capricorn Rising: The lights have been out in the “Career” and “Being Seen” part of your chart. Hopefully you’ve had the time to assess what you want to be different once you turn the lights back on. Maybe a revelation will come about to help you open up this area of your life for business. Maybe a position will open for you to move up into or perhaps you’re ready to unveil what you’ve already built.
You’re already known for doing a lot. But it often becomes an expected resource. Make sure that you’re feeling fulfilled in your effort. It may be surprising to most. However, I do know that Capricorn feels at its best when it’s making a difference for its community. Is that where your energy is fruiting?
Aquarius Sun: All winter till now it may have felt like a pain to get your routines organized. Things might have been getting in your way. Hopefully you haven’t had to deal with non starters due to health issues. However, that is what this eclipse is going to finalize for you. Hopefully you find it easier getting into a more fixed rhythm then you have been lately.
Aquarius Rising: Unexpected travel or an opportunity to take a class may come out of nowhere for you. This may have been a drain lately. Moving from the pandemic (ongoing) into a Ketu 9th house period may have hindered you from traveling. You may have a change of heart around this after the eclipse.
Your fixed nature makes you slow to make big changes. So that may not be an issue for you this time around. The issue might be around accepting the new information you receive. So keep your mind open.
Pisces Sun: Usually last in these lists. I just want you to know that I only started with Aries because that is where the eclipse was. So you’ll often be first for the next eclipse season. That being said. A constant disruption on creative energy may have both been painful and inspiring. Maybe from this conflict the eclipse will help cauterize these themes to promote healing and growth.
Pisces Rising: This is going to flare up in your partners finances and inheritances. I first ask you. Have YOU done your taxes? This is going to be an easy place for this eclipse energy to focus it’s energy in your life. The loosest ends tend to be the easiest for the astrology to grab onto. Regardless, I’m sure your tired from all the attention from Saturn and the planets jumping in and out of your finances. It’s a big year for Aries and Pisces rising.
Take some sort of journaling practice up if you haven’t already. Your’re going to be given clarity that you haven’t had for a long time. You might find yourself having drive and ambition. Don’t let it get out of hand though. Because this ambition is driven by Rahu (The head of the Dragon) and is not the type of energy you're used to handling.
I’m not going to cover the ingress of Neptune into Aries here. Nor do I have the time and space to write about how ambitious this whole month is going to be. If you love astrology. Then take practice in it. That practice from the ancients starts with observation. We’re going to experience large long term shifts over the month that are just a prelude to a longer scale. Observe and record what you see. Most of all though. Take care of your friends, family, and yourself.
Also, if I am either way off base or close to correct please let me know. So that I can get better at my own practice with your guidance.
May the fire inside guide you,
